Breathwork, the work with the breath, has been known in different cultures and traditions for thousands of years.
What is breathwork?
Today, the term Breathwork combines different breathing techniques that pursue different goals. What all techniques have in common, however, is that they all affect the nervous system.
The breath is used to calm or stimulate the nervous system, to experience other states of consciousness or simply to allow the body to be better experienced. There are breathwork techniques that aim to achieve a strong activation (e.g. Wim Hof method) or an altered state of consciousness (e.g. psychedelic breath). There is breathwork to establish a healthy breathing pattern, breathing meditations to promote interoception and Transformational Breathwork. The latter (especially if it is trauma-sensitive) aims to close stress cycles, gently integrate old unprocessed experiences and make you more stress-resistant for everyday life.
And all this just through your breath.
What do I need to join a Transformational Breathwork Session?
Honestly? Not much — just you and your breath.
You don’t need experience or fancy equipment. What helps most is creating space for yourself: ideally some quiet time before and especially after the session to land and integrate.
Wear something comfy that lets you move and breathe freely. Come with curiosity — and try to give your inner critic the day off. Breathwork can feel unfamiliar at first: you might experience tingling, warmth, or waves of emotion. That’s normal. It’s your system processing and releasing what it usually keeps locked away.
This is a space to meet yourself beyond words and thoughts. It might feel a little weird at first — and that’s okay. What we do is rooted in both experience and science. The invitation is simple: let your body lead for once, and see what shifts.

Breathwork FAQ
-
I facilitate Transformative Breathwork according to Intesoma®. It is a gentle, trauma-informed session that provides space to feel through and integrate emotions and body perceptions. We rarely have enough time for this in everyday life. It is a self-experience and offers you an unconventional approach to your inner life. Without a lot of blah blah blah, without a lot of frills. Just your breath, music and some gentle touch.

A Transformational Breathwork session with me lasts a total of 2 hours. After a short arrival and welcome, I explain some basics and interesting facts about the process. Afterwards you can ask me questions and after a short break we start with a 45-60 minute breathing journey.
You breathe lying on your back or stomach with your eyes closed. Ideally on a soft mat with pillows and blankets for support, but ideally not in bed. I will guide the connected breath and support you to get into that state where the breath is absolutely in flow. There will be music playing which will also help you to find the connected breath. If you succeed (and it often takes a while) it feels as if your body takes over this active breathing completely. You are no longer breathing, your body is breathing you.
Finally, I will guide you through a regulating breathing technique. So that you can come back relaxed. There will be time and space for a voluntary sharing circle and I will also give you some tips on how you can organise the follow-up to the Breathwork session.

Yes. You don't need any previous breathwork or meditation experience. Before we begin, I'll explain the breathing technique, answer your questions and guide you throughout the entire session.
-
Functional breathing focuses on how you breathe in everyday life and helps you develop healthier, more efficient breathing patterns. Transformational Breathwork uses a longer, conscious connected breathing practice to create a deeper embodied experience.
Depending on what you need, we can work with either approach or combine elements of both.
-
Breathing directly interacts with physiological processes involved in stress and regulation. Different breathing practices can therefore be used to support relaxation, body awareness and nervous system regulation.
Which practice is appropriate depends on the person and the situation—which is why my 1:1 work doesn't use the same breathing technique for everyone.

Whilst transformative breathing is a healing experience, there are a few health conditions where caution is advised.
If you have never breathed like this before and are pregnant, have high blood pressure or epilepsy, please contact me in advance and we can discuss how we can adapt the session for you.
For the below, I am happy to offer breath coaching to improve everyday breathing patterns, but not transformative breathing sessions. If in doubt, you can contact me at any time.

I highly encourage you to be gentle with yourself and take some time over the next 24 hours to slow down and be present. This will help you integrate your experience well and feel positive effects in the long term.
The following can be helpful for good grounding:
Eat something nutritious
Drink a lot (you have excreted a lot of fluid due to the intensive breathing)
Go out into nature
Write, paint, dance, sing, ....
Do gentle movement exercises such as yin yoga or give yourself a self-massage
Take a hot bath
Don't make any big life decisions based on your breathing session for a few days - let your experiences integrate and work on their own
Send me an email if you don't feel fully integrated after the session or if you have any further questions!
Please read the information above carefully before registering! If you have any questions, please contact me.
